Lifetime Quote

" Our hearts have always longed to love,
but never have been free of fear."
So we have always put aside
our natural compassion
and bowed before productivity,
and security
and safety." - William Martin

Sprint Writer

I am a sprint writer. I write in the form of a 50-yard dash. I run to the end of a thought and call it writing. Well, it's feels more like a writing prayer than anything else. But let's just call it writing for now so I don't feel like a complete loser.

I've been feeling like it was time for me to a shot at a 100-yard dash. So, miraculously I just finished my first short story. Repeat -- finished! Not started and I'll get back to it later as 72 weeks go by and it's still sitting there while I have start several new ones. Actually D-O-N-E and gotta tell you, DONE feels rather good. I'm celebrating done - doesn't always come easy in creative process.

Feels like I've dropped 10 lbs (though I am actually struggling to drop 5) but that's a whole another story. For now, mission accomplished and I'm going to soak in the aura of my own done-ness for a seriously short possibly seriously long while....
